Hailing from California, John Heilemann is an American author and journalist. He serves as the national affairs analyst for MSNBC and NBC News. Heilemann was a previous staff writer for the following publications; Wired, New York, and The Economist.

He is the author of two books about presidential campaigning titled; Game Change published in 2010 and Double Down published in 2013. John co-hosts the TV show The Circus alongside hosts Jennifer Palmieri and Mark McKinnon.
